Test for Lead Paint Using 3M™ LeadCheck™ Swabs
3M™ LeadCheck™ Swabs are EPA recognized, non-toxic and provide an instant test for lead on most surfaces, including wood, ferrous metal (alloys that contain iron), drywall and plaster.
EPA certified renovators can use these swabs to determine if lead paint is present on the surfaces being renovated. EPA's RRP Rule requires contractors renovating, repairing or painting structures built before 1978, to test for lead and employ lead-safe practices.
Visit our EPA Lead Certification Program resources page to learn more about the EPA's renovation, repair and painting program and how to become a lead-safe certified renovator or firm.
