Who Should Attend:

Designated LEA's who are responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements under EPA AHERA for asbestos in schools.

This one-day training course provides the required training under AHERA for Local Education Agencies (LEA's) to comply with the Asbestos-Containing Materials in Schools Rule (40 CFR Part 763, Subpart E). LEA's are responsible for protecting children from airborne hazards in schools and must oversee all asbestos management plan activities.

Topics covered: Asbestos uses and forms,identification and assessment of asbestos-containing material, health effects, LEA responsibilities, controlling asbestos-containing building material (ACBM), understanding asbestos management plans; activities affecting ACBM, and Federal and state regulations.
