HAZWOPER 40 HOUR
Initial Training
This five day training course, required under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120, is for individuals working at uncontrolled hazardous waste cleanup sites. This course provides the required 40 hours of instruction and includes hands-on exercises and demonstrations to allow participants the opportunity to become familiar and comfortable with the equipment and procedures.
Topics covered: Personal protective equipment, toxicology, hazard recognition & identification, work practices, use of SCBAs, testing & monitoring procedures and site safety plans.

Who Should Attend:
General waste site workers exposed to hazardous substances (equipment operators, laborers, supervisory personnel), voluntary or emergency clean up operations, workers responsible for cleaning, storage or disposal of hazardous materials. In addition to the 40 hours of required instructions, individuals must have an additional 3 days of field experience prior to entering the work site.
